Corporate Traveling Manager
Ron Duncan was born and raised in the best city in the world - Charlotte, NC! He is a country city fella who loves to hunt, fish and hike but loves to shop, travel and partake in Rooftop Sunday Brunches as well! Ron come from a very large close-knit family with 1 brother and 1 sister, 11 Aunts/Uncles and 49 first cousins and counting! Holidays, birthdays and family functions are not taken lightly with them! Growing up sports were a big part of Ron’s life but more specifically Track and Field. Ron ran track for 14 years and was fortunate enough to obtain a Full Track and Field Scholarship to Western Carolina University where he won 4 team championships! In addition to his championship rings, Western Carolina was also where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.
Ron started working at the young age of 15 years old as a Retail Associate at a Theme Park in Charlotte, NC called Carowinds. He quickly fell in love with the business of helping people and was quickly promoted to an Assistant Retail Manager becoming the youngest manager in company history at the time. During his 6-year tenure at Carowinds, Ron was fortunate to learn and grow into several roles including Area Manager
of the Retail Division. After leaving Carowinds and graduating college Ron entered the Retail industry full force and became a Store Manager at both Finish Line and Michael Kors with his last position at Michael
as District Training Manager.
Ron’s Property Management career began a little differently than most as prior to him entering the business he had no prior experience. Ron entered the industry with Peak Campus in 2016 as a Management Development Associate. After being exposed to all of the various roles he became a Traveling Manager assisting at various properties throughout the Portfolio. His duties included Transitions, New Developments, and assisting in various roles on site. April 2017 was his first role as a Property Manager at The Edge on Euclid, a New Development in Cleveland, OH. Sitting at 22% preleased in April and ending at 70% in September, this New Development was a challenge. A challenge that Ron gladly accepted and won as they reached 99% preleased by August 2018! After promoting 4 team members including his Assistant Manager into the Property Manager role, Ron accepted a temporary Property Manager assignment in Columbia, SC at The Station at Five Points. Operational challenges hindered this property greatly. Issues included break ins, theft, violence, system issues, staffing issues and reputational issues. All of these issues led to leasing issues as well. With a lot of work, and ownership involvement Ron and his team wereable to solve all of the operational and staffing issues as well as improve the overall reputation of the Property! In the month of February, the property received 48 positive reviews and 87 New Leases! Ron’s last position with Peak Campus was as the Property Manager at Campus Evolution Villages in Clemson SC, where they were in the beginning stages of a $3.5 Million Dollar Renovation project!
Fun Fact: Ron currently own 297 pairs of shoes. He states that he has a problem and he is okay with it!
