ATHENS, Georgia (June 19, 2018) —Athens, Georgia-based general contractor Landmark Construction has been named the nation’s most active student housing contractor for the third consecutive year by Student Housing Business, an industry-leading publication. The rankings are determined by total number of new beds delivered during the 2016-2017 academic term. Bed count is a student housing industry measurement that indicates the number of bedrooms delivered as part of completed developments.

During the measured timeframe, Landmark Construction completed 8,434 new beds at student housing projects across the country — 4,712 more than the No. 2-ranked contractor on the Student Housing Business list. Its 2016-2017 deliveries included a combination of cottage-style communities and urban infill mixed-use developments.

Landmark Construction is the in-house construction company of Athens-based developer Landmark Properties, which was named the nation’s most active student housing developer by the same publication earlier this year based on its development pipeline through 2021.

“Being named the most active student housing contractor is a testament to a lot of hard work done by a lot of people within our organization,” Landmark Properties President and CEO Wes Rogers said. “I’m proud of the progress our team has made over the past couple of years and excited to know that we are just getting started.”

Landmark Properties currently owns and manages 64 student housing projects across the country, totaling more than 24,500 beds, and has over $1.5 billion in assets currently under construction.
